As Westdale has many a keen cyclist within the members off staff we decided to take on the challenge and raise money for a very worthy course that staff members and directors have been effected by personally.
Back on the 9th April 2015 Lee Bishop and Toni Bishop became proud parents of none identical twin boys born 14 weeks early and just weighing 933g and 926g, Brooklyn and Elliot were born at Jessops Wing Sheffield http://www.sth.nhs.uk/our-hospitals/jessop-wing where they received excellent care throughout their stay.
“I was not prepared for the scale and complexity of the operations inside a modern neonatal unit, the shear professionalism and care given was astounding!” Lee Bishop
Lee and Toni came into to contact with Bliss during the twins stay in three of Yorkshire`s neonatal units at Jessops Wing Sheffield, Barnsley General and The Doncaster Royal Infirmary where the Twins were finally let home after 112 days in three hospitals.
“Bliss were enormously supporting and provided help and advice all the way, we were happy to be part of several studies enabling improvements of treatments in the future” Toni Bishop
One other staff member that has been effected by a premature birth is Stacey Coward and her partner Jamie Fletcher, Their son George was born on 17/1/2016 at 10 weeks early just weighing 1180g in Barnsley General Hospital, Stacey and Jamie also had fabulous support from Bliss during George’s 39 day stay in Hospital.
